This is the view of the beautiful town of Keswick on Lake Derwentwater from Latrigg. Not a bad view for the 15th September - loving this Indian Summer weather!
At Red Hall Farm it`s really important to us to understand what our holiday cottages visitors feel we can do to improve their holiday experience. So as a result of customer feedback we have created a fenced, grassed, picnic/play area for our guests to take advantage of. It has been lovely to see our younger visitors taking advantage of this over the last few Summer weeks - somewhere to run around, kick a football about and a nice soft landing if they fall over!!
While staying at Red Hall Farm Holiday Cottages, you may be celebrating a special occassion or might like to just treat yourself to a delicious meal cooked especially for you in your cottage! Our local "celebrity chef", John Crouch, can cook (by prior arrangement), in your cottage. John specialises in local produce and also Indian food, after travelling and working extensively in India. John can also cater for all tastes and budgets. If this is something you would like to take advantage of, or would simply like more information, then please get in touch with Joanne on 016973 42249, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. A very nice treat on returning from a hard days walking the fells!
The beautiful Indian Summer has enabled Harvest time to run smoothly. Here the Summer barley is being swept up and led away in the traliers.
AT LAST- we can finally have our slurry tanker back in use.
These Pied Wagtails decided to nest successfully in the bodywork, which meant that we had to wait until all the chicks had flown the nest.
Fab family day out at Keswick yesterday - it`s only 20 minutes away. Although we have been many, many times - the sight of the lake Derwentater as you walk towards it always takes my breath away. Great family fun hiring out a rowing boat! - so much to do in Keswick - for children and adults alike.
We love finding ladybirds - one of our guests told me recently that they smell with their feet and female ladybirds eat almost twice as many aphids than the males do, consuming around 75 a day! Thanks for that Peter!
